  1985 年获得厦门大学数学学士，1992年获得芝加哥大学统计学博士，2006年获得哥伦比亚大学商学院会计学博士。1992-1998年在芝加哥大学商学研究生院担任助理教授。1998-2001年在纽约城市大学巴鲁学院（Baruch College）担任统计学副教授，2001年转入该校在美国排名第七的STAN ROSS会计系任教，成为博士生导师，2011-2014年担任该系系主任。2008-2014兼任中国西南财经大学会计学院海外特聘院长。2014年11月起，任厦门大学管理学院院长。
