　　1980年9月至1984年7月在西北农林科技大学（原西北农业大学农学系) 学习, 获农学学士学位。
　　1984年7月1988年9月中国科学院遗传与发育生物研究所农业资源研究中心（原中国科学院石家庄农业现代化研究所）工作。
　　1988年10月至1989年12月获得中国科学院的留学资助在澳大利亚新英格兰大学农学与土壤科学系访问学者。
　　1990年1月1至1994年12月中国科学院遗传与发育生物研究所农业资源研究中心（原中国科学院石家庄农业现代化研究所）工作期间受聘为中国科学院石家庄农业现代化研究所助理研究员、副研究员。
　　1995年1月至1996年3月获得日本国文部省资助在日本国鸟取大学乾燥地研究中心做研究生。
　　1996年4月至1999年3月获得日本国文部省资助在日本国鸟取大学乾燥地研究中心攻读并获得农业资源学博士学位。
　　1999年4月1999年7月中国科学院遗传与发育生物研究所农业资源研究中心（原中国科学院石家庄农业现代化研究所）工作。
　　1999年8月至2001年8月获得日本学术振兴会的资助在日本国鸟取大学做外国人特别研究员 (博士后)。
　　2001年8月至今受聘为中国科学院水利部水土保持研究所创新研究员、博士生导师；同年获得西北农林科技大学教授资格。
　　2004年7月被聘任为西北农林科技大学资源与环境学院博士研究生导师。
　　2004年12月至2005年2月在日本国鸟取大学干燥地研究中心以邀请科学家身份从事合作研究工作2个月。
　　2005年4月1日 至 9月30日受日本国宇都宫大学的邀请，在野生植物科学研究中心做客座教授。
　　2002年至今但任中国科学院宁夏回族自治区固原生态试验站站长（西北农林科技大学固原野外科研教学基地）。
　　2008年度被评为西北农林科技大学优秀教师。
